In 2008, President Barack Obama gave a speech in Chicago, Illinois declaring that black men in America have abandoned the responsibility of fatherhood. At that moment I became inspired to write in response to the speech on the behalf of black fathers in this country. The more I researched and wrote I came to the conclusion that this is an American problem not an African-American issue. The details in this book are written in the form of an autobiography and memoir of my life. But in particular chapters I take the opportunity to offer a contributed solution to the baby daddy and baby mamma drama, discrimination, and homosexual relationships. I feel that if Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman had an applicable understanding of the contributed solution which is in the form of an equation in this book. The event at the night of the Trayvon murder would have not taken place and both individuals could have walked away in peace. In addition to the documentation and story in this book I have also included my three rap albums in which I have recorded throughout my life over the course of 10 years. Each album represents different stages of my life. The most current album is "The Resurrection" which is not completed as of August 2013 but will be available for download soon. I want to capture the emotion of my experiences as I am inspired and be able to share the recordings with my fans as soon as I am done. However, this brings a new excitement to the rap industry because I have a book that enables readers to download rap music at any given time. So all in reality my fans and supporters can take this journey of recording with me. So I offer my story, wisdom, and music.

George Hendrick,Willene Hendrick

The record of civil disobedience by African Americans begins soon after slaves were brought legally to the American colonies: they began to run away. Through the years of the abolitionists, the struggle against the Fugitive Slave Act, Emancipation, opposition to Jim Crow laws, and the emergence of the civil rights movement, blacks continued the peaceful protest of their inequality and lack of freedom. The Hendricks also show how the idea of civil disobedience, first suggested in America by Henry David Thoreau, crossed oceans to influence Mohandas K. Gandhi, whose thinking in turn attracted a young divinity student named Martin Luther King, Jr. This powerful yet concise work...traces the idea of civil disobedience over time and place.... A welcome and timely book for a broad general audience. --John David Smith

Helen Boyd

Helen Boyd's husband, who had long been open about being a cross-dresser, was considering living as a woman full time. Suddenly, Boyd was confronted with the reality of what it would mean if her husband were actually to become a woman — socially, legally, and medically. Would Boyd love and desire her partner the same way? Boyd's first book, My Husband Betty, explored the relationships of cross-dressing men and their partners. Now, She's Not the Man I Married is both a sequel and a more expansive examination of gender in relationships. It's for couples who are homosexual or heterosexual, and for readers who fall anywhere along the gender continuum. As Boyd struggles to understand the nature of marriage, passion, and love, she shares her confusion and anger, providing a fascinating observation of the ways in which relationships are gendered, and how we cope, or don't, with the emotional and sexual pressures that gender roles can bring to our marriages and relationships.

Tova Hartman,Charlie Buckholtz

Are You Not a Man of God? challenges the accepted readings of several iconic supporting characters from canonical stories of Jewish tradition. These characters have been appropriated throughout history to represent and reinforce central cultural values: the binding of Isaac and the religious value of sacrificing relationship for a higher purpose; the biblical Hannah, appropriated by the rabbis as an archetype of the spirit and practice of prayer; the Talmudic Beruriah and the significance of women's learning and knowledge; and the struggle for intellectual autonomy of the rabbis of the Talmudic story known by its tag-line, "It is not in heaven!" Tova Hartman and Charlie Buckholtz make use of religious, psychological, philosophical and literary perspectives to bring these characters to life in their multiple incarnations, examining their cultural impact and varied symbolic uses. These are texts that have been studied widely with characters that are known well. This study shows, however, that the dominant interpretations mask darker, more insightful, and ultimately more critical dimensions of these important figures. Hartman and Buckholtz discover muted voices of personal betrayal and criticism that resonate as damning social critiques of the rabbis themselves. These critiques often highlight the ways in which cultural authorities use, and abuse, their power; revealing the implications of these moral failings on their legitimacy as communal leaders. In these voices of social criticism, the rabbis evince an awareness of their own vulnerability to such abuses and failings as well as their hurtful, marginalizing effects on members of less powerful social groups.

NOT THAT MAN ANYMORE "An extraordinary and deeply moving account of a woman who lost her husband, Emmy award winner Michael Zaslow to Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Hufford has become a prime mover in the battle to eliminate ALS."-Mike Wallace, Cbs Correspondent "Obviously I knew how the book would end, but as I was reading I was completely mesmerized. Susan Hufford writes so beautifully and poetically. It felt like I was reading a great mystery. The book simply took my breath away. I applaud Hufford for her truth, honesty and humor and for her passion to show the world that there was a man in that ravaged body, and he had, and continues to have-a powerful soul. This book must be read!"-Amy Schor Ferris, Author & Columnist Famous for his portrayals of the vicious Roger Thorpe and the enigmatic David Renaldi, Michael Zaslow was at the top of his game when a mysterious vocal symptom propelled him on an odyssey that led to traditional medical resources and to the very non-traditional. This compelling mosaic offers a unique perspective of illness and of the enduring power of love that reaches beyond the boundaries of life as we know it.
