Samantha Martin didn’t want the title of Iblis and all the hellish responsibility that comes with it. She sure as heck didn’t want these feathery angel wings permanently affixed to her back– although those have their perks. She especially doesn’t want all the extra projects the Ruling Council keeps dumping on her plate. Tricked into protecting a pregnant woman, Sam discovers that her hasty vow came with a whole lot of strings attached – strings that make her question her trust in Gregory. In order to keep her promises, she’ll need to rely on old friends as well as a house full of unlikely allies. As if that weren’t enough chaos for an imp, the angels finally find proof that werewolves are Nephilim - the descendants of fallen angels. An entire race is facing extinction and their only hope for salvation is an angel from Hel.
Combining personal experience with a restatement of timeless universal truths, this text offers a practical and realistic blueprint for survival at this most critical moment in human and planetary evolution. Supported by channelled messages from Winston Churchill and Ghandi, and quotations from Revelation III, it establishes the critical link between the First and Second Coming of the Christ Consciousness - glorious, universal events beyond the claim of man's divisive and limiting religions.
When good fails, chaos rises to the challenge. The daily life of a chaos demon is delightfully sinful—overindulging in Sri Lankan delicacies, trespassing on private beaches in Hawaii, and getting soused at the best angel bar on the planet. But when Bedlam learns that the archdemon Azrael has escaped from the Abyss in order to wreak vengeance against the person who sent her there—Bedlam’s best friend, Khet—he can’t sit idly by. Only one relic possesses the power to kill Khet, who suffers immortality at Lucifer’s request: the mythical Spear of Destiny, which pierced Christ’s side at His crucifixion. Neither angel nor demon has seen the Spear in two thousand years, but Azrael claims to know its location. Bedlam has no choice but to interpret woefully outdated clues and race her to its ancient resting place. His quest is made nearly impossible by the interference of a persnickety archivist, Keziel—his angelic ex—and a dedicated cult intent on keeping the Spear out of the wrong hands. But to Bedlam, “wrong” is just an arbitrary word, and there’s no way he’s letting Khet die without a fight. The Earthbound Angels Series: Book One: Oracle of Philadelphia Book Two: Raising Chaos

But, it requires a paradigm shift in order to activate it; a belief in a God who transforms, a dogged determination to succeed, a passion that comes from the gut and not from the head, a clear strategy to see what others don’t see, and to hope where there is no hope.. This book presents a different approach to dealing with challenges. Jesus is our model. You have the potential. You are unique. You can turn crises into opportunities. Jesus did, so you can too. The heroes of the faith did, and you can. You can make possible what seems impossible. And your life will never be the same again. Your challenges will not go away but you will learn to deal with them. You will learn how to manage crises as well as the joy of overcoming all odds; how to stay peaceful when all else around you is disintegrating; how to keep the faith at the edge of chaos, in season and out of season.

Reveals the factors contributing to the perilous state in which we find our world today. Many researchers and scientists agree that the cause of humankinds problems is the human ego. Yet Laitmans groundbreaking new book not only demonstrates that ego has been the basis for all suffering throughout human history but also reveals why we are subject to suffering due to our egos, and how we can turn our plight to pleasure, our troubles to opportunity. The book contains two parts. First, an analysis of the human soul and how the souls own structure is its bane. The book also maps out what we need to do to once again be happy, and what we should avoid because it would worsen our suffering. Throughout the book, Laitmans analysis of the state of humanity is supported by examples from science and from Kabbalists both ancient and contemporary. "From Chaos to Harmony" determines that we can and must collectively rise to a new level of existence and explains how we can accomplish this goal on personal, social, national and international levels.
Shadow of Dracula!
Gnosticism was a wide-ranging religious movement of the first millennium CE—with earlier antecedents and later flourishings—whose adherents sought salvation through knowledge and personal religious experience. Gnostic writings offer striking perspectives on both early Christian and non-Christian thought. For example, some gnostic texts suggest that god should be celebrated as both mother and father, and that self-knowledge is the supreme path to the divine. Only in the past fifty years has it become clear how far the gnostic influence spread in ancient and medieval religions—and what a marvelous body of scriptures it produced. The selections gathered here, in poetic, readable translation, represent Jewish, Christian, Hermetic, Mandaean, Manichaean, Islamic, and Cathar expressions of gnostic spirituality. Their regions of origin include Egypt, the Greco-Roman world, the Middle East, Syria, Iraq, China, and France. Also included are introductions, notes, an extensive glossary, and a wealth of suggestions for further reading.
In Jupiter’s orbit, a mysterious death propels an astronaut into the investigation of a lifetime Partway into a years-long journey, an interstellar research expedition takes up orbit around Jupiter and begins to explore the gas giant’s moons: Ganymede, Callisto, Io and—most importantly—the ice ball known as Europa. And tragically, the men and women aboard this ship are about to find out. Two scientists go down to the surface of Europa in a small craft piloted by the beautiful, fiery Evangeline Chatelain. After an accident on the surface, only she returns. Her crewmembers suspect her of murder, but Evangeline tells a wild tale of an attack by a terrifying space monster. The astronaut charged with investigating the incident must decide—is she a crazed killer? Or has she just made the greatest scientific discovery in history?
In this first volume of his magisterial study of the foundations of Mormon thought and practice, Terryl L. Givens offers a sweeping account of Mormon belief from its founding to the present day. Situating the relatively new movement in the context of the Christian tradition, he reveals that Mormonism continues to change and grow. Givens shows that despite Mormonism's origins in a biblical culture strongly influenced by nineteenth-century Restorationist thought, which advocated a return to the Christianity of the early Church, the new movement diverges radically from the Christianity of the creeds. Mormonism proposes its own cosmology and metaphysics, in which human identity is rooted in a premortal world as eternal as God. Mormons view mortal life as an enlightening ascent rather than a catastrophic fall, and reject traditional Christian concepts of human depravity and destiny. Popular fascination with Mormonism's social innovations, such as polygamy and communalism, and its supernatural and esoteric elements-angels, gold plates, seer stones, a New World Garden of Eden, and sacred undergarments-have long overshadowed the fact that it is the most enduring and even thriving product of the nineteenth century's religious upheavals and innovations. Wrestling the Angel traces the essential contours of Mormon thought from the time of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to the contemporary LDS church, illuminating both the seminal influence of the founding generation of Mormon thinkers and the significant developments in the church over almost 200 years. The most comprehensive account of the development of Mormon thought ever written, Wrestling the Angel will be essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the Mormon faith.
This book reads the work of Salinas, Guillén, Larrea, Diego, Alberti, Méndez, and Lorca in analogical relation with Cubism and with the revolutionary discoveries of modern physics. From the internationally bestselling thriller writer who has been compared to Thomas Harris and Jo Nesbo comes the second novel in his Caselli and Torre Series, a high‑voltage ride into the bizarre as the detective duo tracks an ingeniously lethal female villain. When a high‑speed train from Milan draws into the station in Rome with a carriage full of dead bodies, preliminary investigations are placed in the hands of Deputy Police Commissioner Colomba Caselli. And after the police receive a message claiming responsibility for the killings and announcing more murders to come, they turn their attention to a small group of Islamic extremists. But Dante Torre—the victim of a childhood abduction with extraordinary powers of observation—believes authorities are being misdirected. For him the Islamic link is a smokescreen concealing the actions of a killer who has been committing murders all over the world for years: a woman who calls herself Gilitinè, after the mythological Lithuanian goddess of death. As a child during the final years of the Cold War, Gilitinè was imprisoned in a concentration camp behind the Iron Curtain known as “The Box.” Now, she is driven by revenge. After further carnage in Berlin, Gilitinè’s murderous plans escalate to macabre heights in Venice, where Dante and Colomba must stop her before the waters of the Venetian Lagoon turn blood red. And then comes an incredible surprise.
Harnessing Chaos is an explanation of changes in dominant politicized assumptions about what the Bible 'really means' in English culture since the 1960s. James G. Crossley looks at how the social upheavals of the 1960s, and the economic shift from the post-war dominance of Keynesianism to the post-1970s dominance of neoliberalism, brought about certain emphases and nuances in the ways in which the Bible is popularly understood, particularly in relation to dominant political ideas. This book examines the decline of politically radical biblical interpretation in parliamentary politics and the victory of (a modified form of) Margaret Thatcher's re-reading of the liberal Bible tradition, following the normalisation of (a modified form of) Thatcherism more generally. Part I looks at the potential options for politicized readings of the Bible at the end of the the1960s, focussing on the examples of Christopher Hill and Enoch Powell. Part II analyses the role of Thatcher's specific contribution to political interpretation of the Bible and assumptions about 'religion'. Part III highlights the importance of (often unintended) ideological changes towards forms of Thatcherite interpretation in popular culture and with particular reference to Monty Python's Life of Brian and the Manchester music scene between 1976 and 1994. Part IV concerns the modification of Thatcher's Bible, particularly with reference to the embrace of socially liberal values, by looking at the electoral decline of the Conservative Party through the work of Jeffrey Archer on Judas and the final victory of Thatcherism through Tony Blair's exegesis. Some consideration is then given to the Bible in an Age of Coalition and how politically radical biblical interpretations retain a presence outside parliamentary politics. Harnessing Chaos concludes with reflections on why politicians in English politicians bother using the Bible at all.

Like many of us, Bob Miglani felt overwhelmed and anxious. He worried constantly about his job, his finances, and his family. It was a chance invitation to India, the land of his birth, that finally freed him. India, Miglani writes, is “the capital of chaos”: over a billion people living on one-third the space of the United States. And it was there that he learned to let go. The secret is to stop trying to control the chaos and focus on what you can control—your own actions, words, and thoughts. Move forward, make mistakes, trust your intuition, find your purpose. In this inspiring book, Miglani shares the experiences and encounters that helped him finally get it. What happens when you find yourself in an Indian village with no money and a plane to catch? How could an educated urban woman agree to a marriage after two dates? What keeps a rural health worker motivated despite the enormous need and such limited ability to help? What does trying to catch an insanely overcrowded bus teach you about perfection? Embracing the chaos, Miglani found, “leads us down paths we never would have walked on...It brings out strengths we never knew existed inside of us.”
