“The students we were leaving behind would become the new. They would continue to hold high the purple and gold banner and lead the school to bigger things and victories, whether in academics, athletics, fine arts, or citizenship. As I exited the double doors, I took solace in knowing that the glory days and glory years we metamorphosed through at Thomas Jefferson Elder High School had prepared us to go forth into the world with determination and confidence to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” Glory Days, Glory Years puts the limelight on the indelible memory that was high school. Julius Feliciano Warthen takes you along his remarkable journey and draws you in with the poignant reminiscences of high school, and, about how the determined mindset of African American student overcame the intended, inexorable effects of racial segregation and discrimination. Let him inspire you with a look back at the fresh bloom of youth. Surely, moving onwards through the seasons of life, a trip down memory lane wouldn’t go amiss.
The walk into intimacy with Christ is a journey. It starts when we first turn our lives over to Him and learn how to navigate the courts of heaven in this life. The division between heaven and earth is seamless because the veil between the realms has been forever torn by the Lord. The earthly journey is the bit where we get to know the Lord and his ways, where we go beyond knowing about Him through His word, to living embraced under the shadow of His wings. Into the place where we learn to head His call to "Come up Here" and come boldly before His throne of grace. It is a true journey, because every day is a new day in the Lord and the dawn of each new day brings change and new understandings of his ways as we fall into His heart and discover His love, His nature and His character.
No one takes much notice of Ohbert Bennett when he creates a Glory Gardens website, but Ohbert has a mission - to make Glory Gardens the most famous junior club in the world. He sends out a challenge to all junior sides to beat 'the reigning world champions'. The first the other players know about it is when the top young Australian club side, Woolagong C.C., arrive in England to take up the challenge. A five-game series - dubbed the Junior Ashes - is set up around the country and with the press and public following the action the pressure is certainly on. With the series tied two - two, the final game at Trent Bridge attracts huge crowds and the big question on everyone's lips is - will the Glory Gardens XI win Ohbert's Ashes?
What is it that the apostle Paul speaks of that he sees in the mirror dimly? Is it the Glory of the Lord? Yes, he is explaining to us that we should be transformed into that Glorious image. In this book it is my intention to spell out the process of the Christian being transformed from the darkness of the old self, the flesh into the Glorious Light, the Light that is Christ. There are ways and means to this end, and we are not left alone to travel this pathway. The Glorious Light of the Holy Spirit navigates our way. This book is my attempt to plot the course of the Christian to attain it, as the Holy Spirit has led me.

The Glory to Glory Sisterhood breaks down barriers between women, building up their faith in God and their bonds with each other. The Glory to Glory Sisterhood invites Christian women to join God’s “sisterhood sorority” by exploring sensitive-to-women issues including: • Rejection. • Coveting. • Receiving love. • Disappointment. • Insecurity. • Accepting themselves as beautiful. Robin Kirby-Gatto draws on her own experiences of rejection, worthlessness, and rebellion to create bonds of trust and understanding among women of all ages, “to bring women into unity where we see each other through the eyes of Christ.” She begins with her own story, showing the depths God went to redeem and call her to fulfill her destiny and purpose. The Glory to Glory Sisterhood addresses worldly standards that have come against women in general that have built strongholds of competition through jealousy, pride, gossip, and judgment—giving women false expectations about how to treat each other—and empowers them to move forward using God’s standard to propel them into godly, sisterly relationships. Probing questions at the conclusion of each meaningful chapter open your heart to Jesus, the Lover of your soul, and allow you to take a deeper look at your Savior—and yourself.
Christianity is one of the most popular subjects of debate in the world today. In this book, Dr. Ward directs the debate to the Bible itself. He contends that the core of the biblical revelation of Christ has been overlooked, ignored and even dismissed throughout thousands of years of Church history. He challenges us to look deeper into the Scripture and discover what it means that Jesus is Christ. As many precious gifts come in a small package, Christ is identified in the Bible with one small, five letter word used in its metaphysical context only four times in only one chapter of the New Testament. In the beginning was the Logos and the Logos was with God and the Logos was God…and the Logos became flesh and dwelt among us (Jn. 1:1, 14). As Dr. Ward demonstrates, once we have a grasp of the meaning of this single Word, it acts like a secret code unlocking the vision of the Big Picture, Grand Design God intended when he inspired John to write his Gospel. Unfortunately, few Christians today know anything about the Great Conversation of philosophical thought that John adopted at the core of his God-Story. Dr. Ward invites us into our own personal psychological encounter with a here-and-now renaissance Return to Antiquity, joining the Church Fathers who dedicated their lives to the depth of this expansive vision. Open your mind to revision and redefine your faith. Let the big “T” Truth transform your mind, heal your wounds and open your heart to this wonderful heritage at the root of the great Christian tradition—From Glory to Glory!
He was born in obscurity, yet a star boldly proclaimed the actual event of His birth. His coming had been prophesied for 4,000 years, but when He did arrive, only a few recognized who He truly was. His birth brought the announcement of "peace on earth" between God and man, but His ministry brought a sword to the kingdom of darkness. As a child, He was hidden from those who would destroy Him, so that as a man He could allow His destruction to be for the salvation of all mankind who will receive Him. Jesus Christ lived a little over 33 years, but it was His last three that made all the difference in the world. He healed the sick, raised the dead, restored the physically disabled and brought forth great abundance where there was very little. This is His story, From Glory to Glory: The Life, Ministry, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as written by the New Testament Gospel authors Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (KJV). It is recomposed in this unique format for convenience and edification.
In this volume, the noted Chinese pastor/writer Watchman Nee interprets for us what is meant by the phrase, "from glory to glory". He assures us of the love of Christ and exhorts us to have the mind of Christ, which is indeed from glory to glory.
When any unbeliever, including a Jew, sees Moses, his heart is veiled so he cannot look into Moses¿ face. In Moses he sees his curse under the law. After he is saved and believes Jesus is his Lord and Savior, the veil is taken away. When he looks at the Old Testament, he no longer considers God as the judge of the universe looking down on him and condemning him for failing to meet the law. Now he is to look at the law as a thing given to him by his Father in heaven who desires to bless him by telling him what He desires him to do. One of the ways God blesses us is through the giving of His law.
From Glory to Glory encourages scriptural/communal prayer. Texts are selected from the Gospel of John and the Letters of Paul.
It is our desire, that in these “last days”, that the Body of Christ reach it’s full potential as a beautifully, adorned bride, without spot or blemish, bringing all glory and honor to Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches, coaches, and guides us into Godly wisdom. We can either live our lives through our own understanding, or we can live the life that God has designed for us. Who is the potter, and who, or what, is the clay? God wants to fashion and form us into the vessel that He wants us to be. That only happens in our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit. Second Corinthians 3:16-18 (The Amplified Bible) “But whevever a person turns (in repentence) to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). And all of us, as with unveiled faces (because we continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the very glory of the Lord), we all refect that glory and are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever-increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another: [for this all comes to us] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
From Glory to Glory, the Joe Lewis Story is an account of Joe's journey from the glory of the world to the glory of God. The account starts with the beginning details of his life and proceeds through his serving in the United States Air Force and ending with the planning to form several evangelistic ministries. The account contains descriptions of supernatural events, humor, despair, and joy. Joe Lewis was born on August 6, 1961 in Burlington, Vermont. He grew up mostly in Huntington Center, Vermont near Camel's Hump Mountain. He did very well in school and with a four-year Air Force scholarship obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Computer Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Joe served five years in the Air Force during which he went to Undergraduate Pilot Training for a while and ended his service as a captain at the Pentagon working directly for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He then went through several years of depression and including homelessness on the street. Today, Joe is involved in evangelism, inventing, and writing.
The glory of the Lord is not only in His person, but also in His work. Though glory is His dwelling, He divests himself of glory and takes up a humble fashion as a man. He endures the shame of the cross for fallen mankind, and nowhere does His moral glory shine brighter than on the cross. By means of His finished work at Calvary, the Lord Jesus is able to bring many sons to glory (Heb. 2.10). It is His prayerful desire that we may behold His glory (see John 17.24). And “we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit” (2 Cor. 3.18). In this present volume Watchman Nee interprets for us what is meant by the phrase, “from glory to glory.” He begins with the name of Jehovah—the glorious name of God—and shows that man’s only sin is falling short of God’s glory. Yet God is so ready to forgive, although His forgiveness must be received by faith. He then cites the case of David and Mephibosheth to illustrate the mercy of God. The author further demonstrates the riches of God’s grace by reviewing with us the salvation which comes through baptism, the food with which God provides His own, and a believer’s value before God. By way of conclusion, He assures us of the love of Christ which is ever available to us and exhorts us to have the mind of Christ—which is indeed from glory to glory.
