David Medved

Hidden Light is a far-reaching exploration of the scientific principles embedded in the Tanakh. Dr. David Medved draws on cosmology, astronomy, mathematics, chemistry, geology, and archeology to illuminate various biblical issues and phenomena. He demonstrates how the language of Psalm 19 anticipates the most recent findings on pulsars, binary star systems, and gravitational wave projects, provides an ingenious exploration of the chemical properties of tekhelet, and uses gematria to determine the value of pi. Hidden Light stimulates dialogue, debate, and collaboration between scientists and biblical scholars, and provides a fascinating approach to teaching science in religious schools.

When the physical body dies, our spirit / soul return to the World of Spirit but only a few with knowledge and understanding of the higher Light Mysteries shall return as light beings to the Light Kingdom nearer to the Ineffable One. Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions. Search ever and cease not, until ye find the mysteries of the Light which will lead you into the Light-kingdom, by receiving the light mysteries you resurrect the Light-man within, and then when passing from the body you become a light-streams/beams of light. Putting on the Light-robe vesture is the mystery of all mysteries.

Gavesanam deals with the Vedic discourse on many levels. It is mostly with the Rgvedic and the Yajurvedic texts, that is, with the hymns and the ritual texts, that it does so. The work shows a search for an insight into the highly cultivated poetic mind of the Rsis, which displays mystery and myth, knowledge and secrecy in their creations. The first two chapters illustrate with some clarity the method which is adopted in order to come to grips with a few of the symbolic and metaphorical, mythic and ritualistic texts and lays the foundation for the rest of the essay. The approach is interpretive and, therefore, necessarily speculative. In the main, the procedure is neither classificatory nor descriptive of the texts, since many scholars have done excellent work in this manner. The present exercise highlights the importance of the Vedic Ida, the Vedic World, the Vedic gods and goddesses like the Mitravaruna, Agni, Vak, Visnu, Sarasvat, Soma, and so on, from an interpretive point of view. A few figures make comprehension easier and more concrete. The work as a whole may be considered to be a long essay of progressive approximations, which means that the thoughts that are presented have to be corrected and complemented by further approximations in a truly academic and scientific spirit. Such an effort opens a new way for a better understanding and appreciation of the Vedic and the post-Vedic literature and culture.

A Hidden Light is a description of early aBaD and Bratzlav Hasidic teaching and storytelling, focusing on the founders of aBaD (Shneur Zalman of Liadi, his son, Dov Baer of Lubavitch, and chief disciple, Ahron of Staroshelye) and Bratzlav (Nahman of Bratzlav and his chief disciple, Nosson of Nemirov). In this book, the teachings and tales of these two branches of Hasidic spirituality are richly enhanced by the new insights, interpretations and personal reflections of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, a modern-day Hasidic master and founder of the Jewish Renewal movement, and Netanel Miles-Yepez, a scholar of comparative religion. Readers of their previous book, A Heart Afire: Stories and Teachings of the Early Hasidic Masters will delight in this sequel, covering the next generations of Hasidism; both casual readers of spirituality and serious students of Hasidism will find something of profound depth.

With political suspense, passion for the place, and brutal truth pulled from today's headlines, debut thriller THE HIDDEN LIGHT OF MEXICO CITY illuminates the fight for Mexico's future. Mexico City attorney Eddo Cortez Castillo's unexpected relationship with housemaid Luz de Maria Alba Mora becomes a dangerous vulnerability when he investigates links between the Minister for Public Security and Mexico's most elusive drug cartel leader. But what Eddo doesn't know is that Luz is trapped at the bottom of Mexico's ladder of inequality, where broken dreams and family poverty have brought her to the breaking point. As presidential elections near, Eddo's investigation will uncover a political double-cross fueled by a trail of blood money and drug cartels. With the help of a secret police network, he'll follow the trail as it twists and turns through a maze of smuggling and money laundering right up to the Mexican border with the United States. There he'll find the beating heart of Mexico's drug culture, where violence buys loyalty, votes are for sale, the odds are against survival, and only a woman whose name means Light of Mary can guide him out. Luz cannot help Eddo, however, until she finds the courage to confront the social structure she has lived with for so long in Mexico City and dispel the supposed inequality in their relationship. She'll fight a parallel battle of suspense and survival as a soldier in the war being waged in the kitchens of the elite of Mexico City; a silent class war with its own impact on the country. Immigration to the United States may be her best chance for a real life as an artist, but it comes with a higher price than she may be able to pay. When the lives of Eddo and Luz converge, and the cartels discover his investigation, they will both have to find the courage to survive. If they do, the real battle will have just begun. Cartels and corruption need the dark. Who will have the courage to shine a light?

Saint Dominic has been described by one of his biographers, Guy Bedouelle OP, as ‘ hidden in the light’. Unlike most other founders of religious orders, he says, we have only three brief letters and almost none of his words preserved.; ‘we know nothing of Dominic’s life except what we can see through the eyes of his followers or his friends...The fact that our access to St. Dominic is so indirect reveals his discretion and, in a sense, his detachment from himself. This detachment in turn is an eloquent statement of the place he wished to hold within the Church.’

HIDDEN TREASURES OF THE GOLDEN DAWN Spiritual Insights, Hermetic Teaching and a little Magic A Series by Rick Falconer Volume I: We call thee to the Gentle Light. Foreword by Charles "Chic" Cicero and Sandra "Tabatha" Cicero These volumes are no beginner's guides, for you are no beginner. They form an indispensable spiritual aid as sign posts, lending direction to the traveller with an inclination and interest in the Golden Dawn as a system, promoting a spiritual elevation through a magical discipline. Written a little differently, they do not form a historical account, nor will you find in their context the nature of an academic discourse. This is where these volumes come into their own; written for you from within the system itself as an expression of the spirit for the spirit - your spirit, that they will find you their equal as a companion if you will allow. Complimentary to the teachings within the system and such works as Regardie's Golden Dawn and the Cicero's Self Initiation Manual, they unravel and unveil many a paradox along their way, as you journey through an experiential mystical alchemical infusion. The opportunity is thus upon you through the Great Work to banish the facade of your intellect by continually invoking understanding toward a deeper insight. To disclose the truths to yourself and realise why you are no beginner. As you find yourself to be the unfurling of a rose you have deep down, always known to be."
